Have you had a baby in the last two years? Like to know more about improving continence, strengthening the pelvic floor, preventing prolapse, which postnatal exercises to do, or doing ‘elimination communication’ with your baby? Then come to The Birthing Room’s Postnatal Continence Workshop!
An interactive morning involving three speakers:
1. HOW IMPORTANT IS THE PELVIC FLOOR?
Mary Winchester of Mums n Tums physiotherapy classes presents a practical session on the pelvic floor muscles and how to restore them after childbirth. Includes a group exercise session where we will put into practice the principles learnt in Mary’s presentation.
2. ELIMINATION COMMUNICATION
Kelly Dombroski presents an interactive session on how to begin ‘toilet training’ your baby from birth. Kelly is a researcher & lecturer at Canterbury University who has recently completed a research study on Elimination Communication in China. She has done Elimination Communication with her three children from birth.
3. IMPROVING CONTINENCE THROUGH DIET
Rosemary Joyce presents how to improve urinary and faecal incontinence through changing our food and drink. Rosemary completed post graduate nursing papers on continence in 2010, and currently practices as a Registered Nurse, Childbirth Educator and Doula Birth Companion for The Birthing Room.
